Request Scheme Information

Before trying to initiate a PayShap payment with a participant at another bank, you may first wish to determine whether that bank participates in the PayShap scheme, and if so, which PayShap sub-services that bank supports. For example, you may wish to find out if the bank supports request-to-pay PayShap. The information returned will indicate which payment initiation options are available to you.

You can send a scheme inquiry request to Electrum. Electrum will retrieve information from BankservAfrica and send it to you. Electrum will return a list of industry banks who participate in PayShap, along with the sub-services applicable to them.
