Outbound PayShap Request-To-Pay

A customer at your bank (payee) may wish to send a payment request to a customer at an industry bank (payer), asking them to make a credit payment to their account. The payee does this by sending an outbound request-to-pay (RTP). Once the RTP is presented to the payer, the payer can choose to accept the RTP, in which case they initiate a credit payment. Or they can choose to reject the RTP, in which case no payment occurs.

The RTP will always have a status that changes throughout the transaction life cycle, depending on the transaction events up to that point. For example, a status of PRESENTED means only that the RTP has been presented to the payer. If the payer then accepts the request and elects to make a payment, then the status will change to ACCEPTED.

This guide covers the implementation steps required to send outbound PayShap Request-To-Pay payments.
